SUGAR LAND, TX – Fort Bend County Republican Party Chairman Bobby Eberle issued the following statement in response to the attempted assassination of former President Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania.
“Today, our nation witnessed a grave and shocking attack on our republic with the attempted assassination of President Trump. This is not just an attack on one man; it is an attack on the very foundation of our nation.
“President Trump’s fist-pumping walk off the stage is a testament to his unyielding spirit and determination. We must rally behind him, fight harder than ever, and show those who resort to violence that we will not be intimidated. Our democracy is at stake, and together, we will prevail.
“I urge all Republicans, and indeed all Americans, to unite in the face of this attack. Our commitment to strong families, safe communities, and opportunity for all must guide us as we move forward. Our prayers are with President Trump, his family, and the family of the innocent rally attendee who was killed. May God guide us and strengthen us for what lies ahead.”
