Democrat Leader Neeta Sane endorses Republican Ray Aguilar for Fort Bend County Commissioner

SUGAR LAND, TX — Long-time Democrat and former candidate for Fort Bend County Precinct 4 Commissioner Neeta Sane has endorsed Republican candidate Ray Aguilar for Precinct 4 Commissioner in the General Election on November 8th.

In a statement announcing the endorsement, Sane said, “I am glad to support the Republican candidate, Ray Aguilar, in the upcoming Precinct 4 Commissioner race. I was impressed by Ray’s platform and expertise when he met with me this summer. His commitment to the people of Precinct 4 is remarkable.”

Aguilar will face Democrat Dexter McCoy in the November 8th contest. Sane lost to McCoy during a heated campaign for the May 24th Runoff Election.

“I am excited and most certainly honored to receive Neeta’s endorsement. Even though we have different political ideologies, Neeta and I have built a relationship based on mutual respect for many years,” said Ray Aguilar. “Her support is invaluable to me in my campaign for Precinct 4 Commissioner. I find it very humbling that Neeta is looking past Democrat and Republican labels and putting the best interests of our community first.”

Aguilar has been an advocate for the people of Fort Bend County for almost four decades. He continues to give his time, resources, and financial support to a myriad of important community causes including: Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels, Fort Bend Women’s Center, children with disabilities, veterans organizations, and public safety.
