SUGAR LAND, TX – Fort Bend County Republican Party Chairman Bobby Eberle issued the following statement in response to the recent indictment of Taral Patel, the Democrat nominee for Fort Bend County Commissioner, Precinct 3.
“The grand jury returned an indictment which includes four felony and four misdemeanor charges, highlighting the severity of what Taral Patel is accused of doing. Peddling fake racism in order to stoke racial division is despicable, and every single Democrat should denounce these actions.
“Using social media accounts under names such as Jane Donnie and Antonio Scalywag, Patel is accused of sending fake racist messages to himself while blaming his Republican opponent and Republican supporters. These alleged actions represent the height of dirty politics and have no place in Fort Bend County.
“Why do Democrats continue to stand by Patel? Is it now standard practice for Democrats to avoid real issues and create fake racist messages to sway voters? These are the questions the media should be asking Fort Bend County Democrats.
“Republicans are working hard to unite the diverse Fort Bend County community and move this great county in a new direction. Democrat leadership has been a disaster for this county, and it is quite pathetic to see Democrats embrace fake racism just to win elections. It’s time for a change in Fort Bend County.”
