SUGAR LAND, TX – Fort Bend County Republican Party Chairman Bobby Eberle issued the following statement in response to the overnight theft of dozens of Republican yard signs at multiple polling locations across the county.
“Rather than discussing and debating issues, we see a repeat of the same tactics used in previous elections. Our ‘Had Enough’ signs have turned into a rallying cry for frustrated residents of Fort Bend County regardless of political affiliation. These are the signs being targeted, and each day of early voting there are reports of more signs that are missing. |
“Last night over fifty Republican signs were stolen from the Cinco Ranch Library polling location. A police report has been filed, and security camera footage is being reviewed by law enforcement. This follows on the heels of the theft of Commissioner Andy Meyers’ signs and points to a pattern of corruption that should not be tolerated in this county. “The entire slate of Democrat candidates is filled with those who have been indicted, reprimanded, or sued. It’s no wonder that some people feel it is acceptable to break the law and steal Republican signs when the Democrats in power have sent a message that corruption is synonymous with business as usual.
“We need a new direction in Fort Bend County, and I hope the voters will step up and let their voices be heard. Signs or no signs, voters have HAD ENOUGH!”
