SUGAR LAND, TX – Fort Bend County Republican Party Chairman Bobby Eberle issued the following statement in response to the partisan attack leveled by sitting Democrat Judge Tameika Carters against Republicans across the country following her video-recorded racist comments.
“I am deeply disappointed that Democrat Judge Tameika Carter wasted a golden opportunity to apologize for her blatantly racist comments and instead doubled down with a partisan attack that was not only inappropriate for a sitting judge but factually incorrect.
“In a political climate that is stained by Democrats KP George and Taral Patel being indicted for election interference and making false racist claims against Republicans, Judge Carter added to the racist attacks by stating at a recent candidate forum that Republicans want to ‘lock up as many Black people as possible.’
“Judge Carter’s follow-up statement could have been an opportunity for healing, but instead was a partisan-laced rant in which she decried “divisive politics” but spent her first paragraph blasting Republicans in another racially-charged attack. Judge Carter must have forgotten that Democrat Joe Biden authored the Anti-Drug Abuse Act and that Democrat Kamala Harris kept non-violent criminals in jail to exploit them for cheap labor.
“Judge Carter’s personal attacks on her Republican opponent are not worthy of a judge. Our Republican judicial candidates are the epitome of kindness, competency, compassion, and temperament. By engaging in partisan attacks and disparaging roughly half the country, Judge Carter’s ability to be a fair and impartial judge is seriously called into question.
“Judges should follow the law and not be partisan activists who use racial attacks to divide the Fort Bend County community. It’s time to unite and reject the racial politics of KP George, Taral Patel, and Tameika Carter.”
