SUGAR LAND, TX – Fort Bend County Republican Party Chairman Bobby Eberle issued the following statement regarding the dramatic results of the 2024 elections and the stunning self destruction of the Democrat machine in the county.
“In 2018, Democrats stormed their way to victory in race after race. The 1st and 14th Courts of Appeals were decimated, and Fort Bend County Republicans suffered losses across the board, going 0-20 in judicial and contested countywide races.
“In 2022, we reversed the Democrat trend and split the major races in the county, but in 2024, we were looking for more. The Party focused on fifteen races including the 1st and 14th Courts of Appeals, Fort Bend countywide races, and the crucial races in Fort Bend County Precinct 3.
“The stunning results of Tuesday night are a testament to the hard work of our candidates, volunteers, campaign operations, and election integrity team. U.S. News and World Report named Fort Bend County a top battleground county in America, and together, we went from 0-20 in 2018 to currently 13-0 in 2024 with two races still in question.
“Even more telling is the fact that Democrats purposely (and some would say immorally) gerrymandered Precinct 3 to supposedly make it impossible for Republicans to win. Not only did Commissioner Andy Meyers cruise to victory, but we won the constable seat as well.
“Fort Bend County is the most diverse county in Texas, and these results show that when we all work together, Fort Bend County Republicans can win. We have developed a message that reaches all communities, faiths, and backgrounds. Rather than dividing this great community, we focused on what brings us together… a shared vision for a better Fort Bend County. Now, we can celebrate these wins. Tomorrow, we can get to work.”
