Texas Constitutional Amendments – Background
The 17 Constitutional Amendments on your ballot have been approved by a two-thirds vote in both chambers of the Texas Legislature. For each Amendment to become part of the Constitution, voters must then approve it by a majority vote (50%+1) in a statewide election.
While many amendments have been added to the Texas Constitution in the past, the high threshold for adoption (or repeal/modification) should be one of your considerations.
