SUGAR LAND, TX – Fort Bend County Republican Party Chairman Bobby Eberle issued the following statement in response to breaking news of the indictment of Democrat County Judge KP George over his alleged involvement in election interference and the posting of fake racist messages.
“Democrat County Judge KP George has brought shame upon himself and the entire Fort Bend County Democrat Party. According to the newly released indictment, KP George colluded with the already indicted Democrat candidate Taral Patel to influence the result of an election by posting fake racist messages under the name Antonio Scalawag.
“Democrats claim to be defenders of democracy, yet KP George is alleged to have resorted to the lowest of the low — stoking racism within our diverse community — in order to paint his Republican opponent as a racist. This type of action should be denounced by everyone in Fort Bend County, regardless of political affiliation.
“Not only were the racist claims perpetuated by KP George and other Democrats blatantly false, but George also used the situation to divert law enforcement officials away from patrols and onto his personal protective detail. The abuse of power is simply staggering.
“KP George should resign and save the Democrats any further embarrassment. Fort Bend County is the most diverse county in the state, and it deserves leadership that respects this great community instead of trying to divide it with false claims of racism.”
