- Pat Hebert for her work with the Friday dinner in providing the table centerpieces
- Frank Hester for his work in seating Delegates and Alternates at the caucuses and general sessions and for serving as the Secretary for the CD22 Caucuses
- Richard Whitmore for his great work on the RPT Platform Committee and for serving as the SD 18 Caucus Permanent Chairman
- Andy Meyers for serving as the CD 22 Permanent Caucus Chairman and leading the efforts to select the National Delegates, Electoral College Representative, National Committee Man and Woman
- Mickey and Lynda Mixon who handled the RPFBC shirts... more on this later
- Terese Raia and Bruce Campbell in getting us prepared for the Convention and for their terrific work as the SREC 17 Committee Woman and Man... also, Cress Ann Posten for her similar work as SREC 18 Committee Woman and in preparing for the SD 18 Caucuses. Cress Ann has served the RPFBC and SD 18 in an exceptional manner over the past years and we will certainly miss her leadership in this position
- Paul Davis for serving as the Parliamentarian for the CD 22 Caucuses
- All Precinct Chairs, Delegates and Alternate Delegates who attended and participated in the various votes and other activities and for those I may have missed in singling them out...please let me know if I missed someone who should be recognized
Candidates: It was great to see Pete and Nancy Olson at our caucuses and at many of the convention events. We also appreciate the breakfast he made available to us on Saturday morning. All of us must get behind him and his campaign and do whatever we can to get him elected in November.
We were also introduced to the three candidates for State Senator District 17 to fill the position vacated by Dr. Kyle Janek. Visiting with us at the caucuses were Grant Harpold, Joan Huffman and Austen Furse. This special election will take place on November 4th, with the General Election. All three candidates will be spending time in Fort Bend County in the coming months... please make an effort to get to know them and I am certain they will be attending all of our EC meetings and events.
RED RPFBC Shirts: I want to thank Mickey and Lynda Mixon for their exceptional efforts to get our new RED shirts distributed. I believe the shirts were a hit and we did look good in our RPFBC Red Shirts in the caucuses and general sessions. We have to order some additional shirts for sizes that we didn’t receive in this initial allocation. And I understand that there were not enough shirts for some of the sizes we did receive for those we had ordered. If you ordered a shirt and didn’t receive it, please let me or Mickey know. If you want a shirt and didn’t order one, please let us know and we will order for you and then arrange to meet to get your shirt to you.
SD Caucuses: We elected Terese Raia and Bruce Campbell to continue to serve as SREC 17 Committee Woman and Man and Phyllis Worsham and Mark McCaig for the same SREC 18 positions... congratulations to each of these great Republicans who are in our leadership positions. We also chose Tina Benkiser and Dr. Robin Armstrong to continue to serve as Chairman and Vice Chairman of the RPT. Both were contested for these positions, and in the second General Session, both were re-elected to serve another two years.
CD 22 Caucuses: The CD 22 Caucuses were fully engaged in electing the delegates to the National Convention in September as well as electing Bill Crocker and Cathie Adams as our National Committee Man and Woman, which was supported by the majority of the other CDs. There were many great candidates for the National Delegates... and many votes were taken to arrive at our three delegates and alternates going to the convention. Congratulations to David Adams (Alternate), Jo Howard and Linda Howell, the last two being Alternate At-Large Delegates.
Platform: It was a great pleasure and honor for me to serve on this year’s RPT Platform Committee. The experience of working with the other 30 SREC representatives on the committee was one that I will not forget. I believe we have a RPT Platform that all of us can be proud to be associated with... it is the Conservative Platform for Texas that will be the model for the Country. Our current and future candidates will be measured against it and it will provide plank items that our elected State Republican officials can stand on to get legislation passed. It will be posted on the RPT website in the near future... I strongly encourage everyone to read it and make a copy of it. Just as it says in the Legal Immigration plank... One Nation, One Flag, One Language, One Loyalty... so we too must be ONE Republican Party of Fort Bend County.
